The Springboks, dramatically, emotionally, and belatedly, through a powerful scrum, rescued a game they had no business winning when they overturned a 15-9 deficit to beat a superb England side 16-15 in a passionate and intense Rugby World Cup semi-final at the Stade de France on Saturday.

A simply amazing escape from the Springboks!
They appeared down and out when trailing 15-6 and time running out.
But they had the upper hand in the scrums in the second half, largely thanks to Ox Nche. It laid the platform for RG Snyman's try and then Handre Pollard's match-winning penalty.

Ding, ding! Round 6: South Africa and England, a history of Rugby World Cup rivalry
The Springboks are two wins away from becoming the first team to win the Rugby World Cup four times with England their first opponents in Saturday's semi-final.
It will be the sixth World Cup meeting between the two sides and the Springboks lead the English 4-1.
A potentially bad omen for the English is that three of those victories have come at Saturday's venue, the Stade de France.

World Rugby on Friday confirmed a match official replacement for Saturday's semi-final.
Frenchman Mathieu Raynal steps in as assistant referee after Irishman Andrew Brace pulled out with a calf injury.
In the event of any issues with the on-field referee, New Zealander Ben O'Keeffe, Raynal will take over as referee.
New Zealand's Paul Williams is the other assistant referee, with another Kiwi, Brendon Pickerill, the TMO.
