Bruce Dube, 34, is the managing director of Nine80 Digital Media, a Pan African digital publishing and advertising company with a range of titles targeting Africa's youth.
He entered the digital publishing space in 2010 after founding Youth Village South Africa, a portal that connects young people to knowledge that could help them achieve their full potential. He created Youth Village with the aim of facilitating better access to information centered on youth development matters such as education, employment, entrepreneurship, and health.
Following the success of this project, the concept was replicated in Botswana, Kenya and Zimbabwe, reaching millions of young people on the continent using mobile technology. Since then, Bruce has been at the forefront of digital publishing, operating at least 15 digital platforms across the continent through Nine80 Digital Media.
Many of his projects, such as SA Hip Hop Mag, StartUp Mag South Africa, and The Yanos, give young creatives, entrepreneurs and artists a platform to share their stories, and successes in order to inspire others.
Bruce's work has been recognised by platforms such as Tech4Africa, Apps4Africa, Elevator Enterprise, and the 5th SA Innovation Summit Innovation Lab. In 2017, Forbes named him among 30 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs in Africa. Read more about Nine80 Digital Media here.
