Daniel Costa Gil has decided to turn his pain into purpose. His brother, Philip, died by suicide, a defining moment in Daniel’s adulthood.
To work through his grief, he decided to help others by founding Mission32. “[The programme aims to] inspire, educate and equip adolescents with the tools and strategies to develop their own mental resilience and coping strategies,” he told News24.
Costa Gil travels across the country and around the globe, hosting workshops that encourage young people, especially boys, to learn about the power of vulnerability and ask for help. In the past year, he’s spoken to more than 8 000 youths.
