Karl Frenz from Pretoria talks about their annual week-long Kruger adventure, and explains exactly why Shingwedzi rest camp has captured their hearts year after year!
Every year, our family meets up in the Kruger Park for a week of camping. It gives us time to catch up in a very special environment.
Shingwedzi is our favourite rest camp – it’s so peaceful there, and there are so many beautiful routes to drive.
We saw these lion cubs on the S52 between Red Rocks and the Tshanga viewpoint.
It was around 11 am and the cubs were playing with each other and their mother’s tail.
It was another great Kruger experience – I’ve been visiting the park for 30 years and I still think it’s one of South Africa’s treasures.
