Retha Rust of Hermanus writes Even though my husband Rian and I have lived in Hermanus for 17 years, we never tire of the southern right whales that visit between May and November. Whale season was relatively quiet in 2021 - not many were seen - which was why this sighting was so special.
A group of about 10 whales came close to the new harbour; so close that I could see the baleen in their mouths.
