Johan Crafford from Pretoria writes I photographed this African fish-eagle at the bird hide next to Mankwe Dam in Pilanesberg Game Reserve. We're regular visitors to the reserve, which has a variety of birds and animals, including the Big Five.

I love bird photography and the hides in the reserve offer great opportunities. My main goal during my most recent visit was to photograph a fisheagle with a fish in its talons.

Early on our third day at the hide, I noticed two fish-eagles perched on a stump. They both flew off - one eagle went to their nest and the other swooped down to the water to catch a fish and returned to the stump.

It was an exciting few seconds and I was so happy when I realised that I'd got the shot!
