Namaqua, Karoo, Agulhas and Mokala national parks all just got bigger. Thanks to efforts by the National Parks Trust of South Africa (NPTSA) and WWF South Africa, 202 km² of new land has been acquired by SANParks for conservation.

Namaqua has expanded the most, with 184 km² of new land obtained (nearly five times the size of Springbok). Karoo National Park has grown by 4 km², Agulhas by 5,7 km² and Mokala by 8,4 km².
