Balancing the demands of motherhood and other responsibilities can be a daunting task.
The term 'supermom' is used to describe women who juggle multiple roles like a pro, from being a corporate baddie to a soccer mom and part-time student. While this is impressive, it can also be unrealistic and lead to burnout.
It's not possible without an active support system, which includes family and friends and living in the digital age there are a variety of apps available to help mothers stay organised, productive and, most importantly, sane.
From scheduling apps to meal planning tools, this digital support can take some of the pressure off busy moms and ensure that your children are also happy.
Joey Dlamini, a mother of three from Johannesburg says, "I am currently using Yippe app - a faith-based app for kids. I love it because the content is edifying not only to my kids but me too. It teaches them values that are aligned with our parenting style."
Cape Town-based mom Rumbi Goredema Görgens has been using apps to mostly help with her children's development.
"When my kids were little, I used an app called Moshi - which plays sleep stories and lullabies. These days I use an app called Twinkl which has loads of fun activities and templates for primary school-aged kids. We use it for school projects and homemade cards etc. My son is in Grade 3 and his school uses the Jolly Phonics and Reading Eggs apps, so I have those too."
