  • Brooke and Dylan didn't realise they had almost a two-foot (0.60 meter) height difference between them until they met in person.
  • The couple found each other on Tinder while at university.
  • With Brooke being 5ft (1.52 meters) exactly and Dylan being 6ft10" (2.08 meters), they draw a lot of attention from the public but have used it to their advantage.

A couple who found each other online didn't realise they had a sizeable height difference between them until they met in person.

Brooke Dostillo, 25, and her boyfriend, Dylan Painter, 24, met on Tinder while at university.

Before meeting in person, she had some idea about his height since Dylan is a professional basketball player.

But with Brooke being 5ft (1.52 meters) exactly and Dylan being 6ft10" (2.08 meters), she struggled to visualise how tall he was until she saw him for the first time.

Receiving numerous comments from strangers, the couple chose to laugh it off and instead document their life on social media in a series of humorous videos showing the day-to-day reality of being together.

Brooke explains: "I didn't know when speaking to him how tall he was; I knew he was tall as he was on a basketball team, but I didn't know how tall he really was, and he didn't know how short I was.

"It's hard to visualise it until you see it for yourself, so for me, everyone is tall anyway, and Dylan thinks everyone is small."

Brooke says people talk about the height difference between her and Dylan in public, so they figured they would "make the most of it" and share videos online.

"The comments would be things like, 'How does that work?', 'OMG, you're so tall and short', and we would laugh it off as it's from both ends. There are usually more comments towards Dylan in person and more comments about us together online, and it's always very interesting.

"We always see people post memes a lot, especially the one of the hamster and banana and the train in the tunnel meme; we just laugh it off.

"[I] never thought it would go this big; I always joked saying we could blow up on the internet, and Dylan didn't believe me and then realised people were really interested in our lives and us sharing our experiences."

Brooke says she had to warn her family about the height difference before they met Dylan.

"My family were really excited to meet Dylan, and they really liked him when they met," she explains. "We gave our families warnings about the height differences.

"It's great when Dylan can reach things for me in the shops and in the kitchen. He is pretty easygoing. He is used to getting comments from people, but I wasn't used to it, so getting these comments is something new to me that I had to adjust to."
