QUICK PROJECT GUIDE

Hard labour 1/10

Skill level 2/10

Time needed half a day

Do it yourself for ±R1 560:

hemp fabric (4m) R1 560

1. Cut the fabric into the following pieces: one 1 830 x 730mm(seat); two 1 830 x 480mm (long sides); and two 730 x 480mm(short sides). Note: These measurements are for two ottomanspositioned next to each other, with the short sides touching.

2. Sew the 5 pieces together with the 1 830 x 730mm seat piecein the middle and the four side panels on the correspondingsides to form a box shape. Zigzag the edges to prevent themfrom unravelling (or use an overlocker to do this).

4. Use an iron to press a hem of about 1cm on the slipcover.Fold the hem double and sew in position.

Tip: Make sure your fabric ispre-shrunk. If not, washthe fabric before you makethe slipcover.
